The Red Dot Design Award is one of the largest design competitions in the world and has established itself internationally as one of the most coveted seals of quality for good design. The award is divided into three disciplines in order to assess the diversity in this area professionally. We were able to impress in the “Medical devices and technology design” category.

The Red Dot Design Award

In the world of design and innovation, the Red Dot Award stands for the highest recognition. Under the motto "In search of good design and innovation", the Red Dot jury once again evaluated the outstanding submissions and presented the coveted Red Dot awards. A panel of around 40 international experts from various specialist areas examined, discussed and evaluated the design quality of each submission. Criteria such as functionality and aesthetics were carefully considered. Good design is multi-faceted - a product must be able to convince the Red Dot jury on various levels. To do this, it must combine the four qualities of good design, as explained in more detail by Peter Zec in his book "The Form of Success" (2019):

• The quality of function: what purpose does the product fulfill?
• The quality of seduction: Is the product aesthetically pleasing?
• The quality of use: Is the product easy and self-explanatory to use?
• The quality of responsibility: Is the product sustainable or durable?

These qualities vary depending on the product, but none of the four aspects should be completely absent.

The flexible worktop concept also allows easy replacement and combination of worktops to tailor the work process. The claire® neo thus combines first-class design, ergonomics and user-friendliness to make working in the laboratory more effective and pleasant.

The claire® neo was able to impress in all four quality levels (function, aesthetics, handling and responsibility) and we are delighted to proudly accept the Red Dot Design Award 2024 on June 24.
